Jim Jordan's Biggest Failure
Not taking Johnathan Buma's story seriously is the signal disgrace of the Weaponization Committee
I don’t know where Johnathan Buma is at the moment, but I have been in touch with him. He has been going through it, and so help me God, there will be a reckoning for that. Some of the details about the retaliation against him are extremely disturbing, but I’ll leave it to him to decide when the time is right to share that.
Buma’s statement to the Senate Judiciary Committee, which I published, was made to Senator Sheldon Whitehouse’s office.
I’ll explain why I published it, other than it just being a good story. It’s important to connect all the Russian interference to the Israeli interference, and notice how various Israeli assets in the American press tend to bury details, and their catch-and-kill machine. If we have a Russian-backed far-right in America, it also seems relevant that there is a far-right government in Israel which is backing right-wingers here as well. Buma’s story connects all of that.
What is a little unaccountable is where Jim Jordan’s committee has been on it. One must ask, given Congressman Jordan’s role covering up all the misbehavior on the Ohio State wrestling team, whether he is doing the same here.
Buma went to them first. They’re wasting their time with these nonsense whistleblowers like Kyle Seraphin, but they seem to have cut Buma loose. This makes no sense.
The letter from former Rep. Steve King to Reps. Jim Jordan and Andy Biggs, concerning Buma’s situation, was dated April 27, 2023.
On May 30, Tia Folgheraiter, a research assistant to Jim Jordan, reached out to Buma to discuss more. It looks like she did the right thing moving it up the ladder.
On the ides of June, 2023, two investigators from Jordan’s office, Tom Ferguson and Ken Kepler, both former FBI guys, interviewed Buma regarding matters pertaining to Hunter Biden and Rudy Giuliani. They were interested in the former, but uninterested in the latter, presumably because the deal had already been made to put the Israelis in charge of the impeachment effort. A lot of stupid Bushie Republicans who worship Israel and love corruption seem to like Guiliani, though I can’t imagine why.
I also understand the FBI opened up an internal affairs investigation based on the poison pen activities of Everett Stern, a man with immense gambling debts, an Israel problem, and little talent. At this point one assumes, since Gal Luft was indicted on July 11th, that the Israelis were aware their role in the impeachment effort was effectively scotched, but they had to try to burn Buma anyway.
I reached out to David Marchant today, who Stern sued. Stern asked Marchant to remove a former employee of his, William Ruzich, from a conference his firm put on in London in October 2023. In the complaint Stern published Marchant’s social security number and home address. It was Matt Taibbi who gave Stern his first big break, citing him in a story about “Gangster Bankers,” which also got him the Netflix credit. All very weird.
Buma spoke to a fair number of other offices on the Hill. The idea that this could all just be suppressed and squashed in the media is simply ridiculous.
