This is a good moment to revisit the texts myself and Charles Johnson published between ourselves and JD Vance. Mine are here on this blog, Charles’ are in this Washington Post story.
Vance was trying to walk a fine line knowing the neocons were unpopular, but not talking about how the Israelis are harming American government in a zillion ways and trying to drag us into a war with Iran. It’s not very convincing.
I published the texts between myself and Vance almost a year ago now, which talk about how the Paul Singer dual loyalty network was behind the Russiagate attack on Trump’s candidacy. He kept silent. Is the goal here to get rid of Trump and replace him with the PayPal mafia’s guy?
Israel’s government is now even more pro-Russia than when we had those conversations. Pete Hegseth is in the process of cutting off aid to Ukraine.
Really, the smart move here is to rein in Israel, and deal with its immense Russia problems, because only by doing so can the lines between Ukraine and Russia even be clarified, since there’s so much shady money laundering and criminality from Eastern Europe that runs through Israel. Then we can have the conversation about how best to wind down the war in Ukraine. But that’s not politically viable in the GOP, which relies on Israeli money laundering through Chinese casinos, and where unlimited support for Israel’s ethnic cleansing and offensive war is a given.
Charles’ texts are even more damning. The former writer for David Frum’s blog seems to have been convinced that Israel is, like, the NatCon paradise or something, whose leaders are more sober than the neocons.
“If the GOP listened to Bibi we wouldn’t have invaded Iraq, wouldn’t have done nation building in Afghanistan, and wouldn’t be threatening a war with Iran,” Vance wrote to Johnson.
How does that look today? Looks like we’re back to square one.
That quote from Vance is utterly braindead. Scary.
